Sept 14th,2004
The Boston Metro league has kicked off its 9th season, this year there will be more teams than ever competing with over 80 teams now joining the league.  With a growing league that also includes 30 teams participating in the youth divisions.  Last season the Manchester and Londonderry teams spawned quite a rivalry as over 130 kids participated and even more are expected for this season.
In the 6-8 division last year the Manchester Panthers defeated the Londonderry Raiders 18-12 for the title while in the 9-12 division Londonderry got their revenge when the Giants beat the Manchester Vikings for the title 21-20 in OT for the title.
In championship action last year Alliance from NH battled the Chiccone Outlaws.  In the first half Alliance scored three unanswered touchdowns for a 21-0 lead.  The Outlaws turned the tables in the second as Tony Sanders, Anthony Coma and Charlie Holiday connected for three second half touchdowns to cut the alliance lead to 27-21.  Alliance was able to hang on to the six-point advantage and capture its first BMFFL title.  Assassins, Washington Tap and Damiens were able to capture the B, C and D 8 Man titles.
In the 4Man category, Mr. Steer beat Hogwild to run the table and finish undefeated in winning the A division title.  The excite team captured the B division title while Knappy Trenches beat an up-and-coming Guffy to win the C division championship.

Oct 6th, 2004
Knappy Trenches and Shockers have been removed from the league for two forfeits, several more teams are are on probation. The schedule will change if these teams drop out.

Boston, MA-Playoffs
BOSTON PLAYOFFS ; MULTIPLE BATTLES BETWEEN TOP TEAMS
by Scott E. Green

On Oct. 27th some of the most formidable teams , over 70, will participate
in the 1st round of playoffs in Boston. Teams must win two games in order
to advance to round two of the playoffs. Other than entry fees for the
World Cup Qualifier in New York City, T-Shirts and trophies are also up for
grabs by the winning teams.

In 8Man A Division undefeated Alliance (7-0) is the team to beat but three
former BMFFL Div A champs ( Hitmen, Generals and Outcast) are also in the
hunt for qualification.

29 teams are in 8Man B and six teams all have the chance to be Division
champions. Shamrocks are the only undefeated team. Four teams ( No Sleep,
The Hitsquad, The Black Panthers and MadPack) have only one defeat. Murphys
Law defeated two of these previously undefeated teams last week. Murphy's
Law is also the tallest team in its field with two offensive tackles stand
6' 7"

However former Pats and Rams LB and star player for UMass Kole Ayi will be
playing for the BRC and should be serious contenders 8Man B.

Lightning is the only undefeated team in 8Man C but it still has to get pass
a strong and charging Ole Boys team with its record of 6-1.

Superheroes are the only undefeated team in 4Man A but have to fight through
potential ambushes by Castros, Dirty Birds and the Razorbacks.

CWD and Panthers are the teams to beat in South Div.

Four teams should dominate 4Man B : Hammerheads, Avalanche, Wolves and Rams
