PREVIEW
Sept 28th,
Denver,CO- A game of Fame- John Elway vs Joe Montana
The NFL's All Time leading passer and
2004 Hall of Fame inductee John Elway will lead a cast of former
Broncos vs Joe Montana and former NFL greats in a 9Man Ineligible
Flag Football game. The game will be played with
World Cup of
Flag Football Rules, where FlagMag's President Jim Zimolka
will instruct the NFL players and referees on how to play the
game. Mr Zimolka has been hired as the Flag Football consultant

This is not the first meeting between these two QB in a
Flag Football game. Sept 22nd these two battled it out in the last
game ever to be played at Mile High Stadium. Elway connected with
former amigo Mark Jackson for a two point conversion to win the
game 34-33 with under two minutes remaining. That game was the
largest attending Flag Football game with 34,000 tickets sold.
John Elway is co-owner and CEO of the Arena Football Team
Colorado Crush
originally scheduled for Aug 20th the
game was postponed due to Inclement weather.

Denver,Co- A Game of Fame
Its not often 20,000 fans show up to a Flag Football game, but
when you have two NFL hall of fame Quarterbacks with
six superbowl titles your sure to get more than your average
crowd. More than an estimated 8,000 waited inline before game to
get autographs as all 40 players signed for an hour before the
game. It was the second time these two quarterbacks faced each
other in a flag football game, as it was three years ago just
after Sept 11th when they played the last game ever at Mile High
Stadium.
The two teams played 9Man Ineligible World Cup of
Flag Football Rules and FlagMag's president Jim Zimolka was hired
as the Flag Football consultant for the event. On the
opening drive Broncos #21 Le Lo Lang Intercepted a Joe Montana
pass on the 15 yardline.Elway quickly started the scoring when he
connected with Vance Johnson on a 5 yard TD grab. David Treadwell
kicked the extra point to give Elway's team a 7-0 lead. Montana
then connected with Walter Stanley on a 20 yard pass, Barry helton
kicked the extra point to tie the game at 7. Elway was then
intercepted by #59 Glen Cadrez on the 27 yard line. Roger Craig
then scampered from 10 yards out for the score. Helton missed the
extra point closing out the scoring for the half and giving
Montana's team the lead 13-7. Elway's squad came up short on the
last play as time expired after Elway threw an incomplete pass in
the end zone intended for Mark Jackson,
In the second half Elway connected with Vance Johnson again on a
15 yard pass and the Treadwell extra point gave them the lead
14-13.Both offenses were stopped on the next drives leaving the
score 14-13 after three quarters. In the 4th quarter it was
explosive with scoring. Bronco's Neil Smith sacked Joe Montana for
a safety giving them a 16-13 lead.#38 Reggie Rivers then scored on
a 15 yard touchdown pass, and the Treadwell kick gave Elway's team
a commanding 23-13 lead. Montana's team charged right back as
Keith Neubert caught a 15 yard touchdown pass from Montana with
1:19 remaining. Montana's team then did a fake field goal as
fernandez(Montan's Agent) threw a pass to Bobby Helton for the two
point conversion to make the score 23-21. On the next drive with
just 55 seconds remaining Reggie rivers scampered 60 yards to make
it 31-21.
With little time remaining things got a bit humorous as Olineman
-6'6-340 lbs Bubba Paris ran 70 yards for a td. We must add he
didn't have flags and no one thought he would make it.
