East Rutherford, NJ-Giants Stadium Cerebral Palsy Tournament
Twenty four teams took part in the annual 6Man Contact Cerebral
Palsy Touch Football tournament which cost $1000 per team to
enter. This was the first year the event had a flag division where
8 teams entered. There was a 5 mississippi count and blocking was
allowed, giving most QB's over 10 seconds to throw the ball.
Four fields where made up from the one field, making the
playing fields 25 x 60 yards. over forty officials volunteered to
ref. There were seven officials per field which broke a flag
football record for the most officials per size field.
In the A Championship it was a rematch of last years A Div
championship but this time the Red Dawgs defeated primetime
28-13 in a heavily heated game. It was the Red Dawgs third
championship trophy this year and 5th Cerebral Palsy crown.In the
touch division
Union City Rec
beat the Secaucus Wolverines.
This years event raised $50,000 Next years Event will mark the
20th anniversary and special plans are currently being drawn up
for nexts years event.
