This game
brings a whole new meaning to getting dirty, as eight teams
competed in the 32nd annual 7Man Rough Touch Mudbowl event in the
small town of Kingfield which has a population of just under 1000
people. Located 10 miles south of Sugarloaf this remote area
brought in teams from all over, including three Flag Football
Teams from the Boston Metro Flag Football League, Muddas,Dirty
Birds and the Mud Gumbies.
It was an All BMFFL final as the MudGumbies(Nashua,NH)
won for there second consecutive Maine title by defeating the
newcomers Dirty Birds(Manchester,NH) 18-0.
The MudGumbies were led by new QB Chris Cleatus who played well in
the Mud. He connected with Team USA's Captain Jim Wilson for 6
Touch downs. The Mudgumbies defense was the difference as they
only gave up two touchdowns in 5 games.The defense was spearheaded
by nose guard Dave Martinue who was unstoppable.
