Burlington,VT-Vermont Challenge

Seven teams participated in the Green Mountain states 1st annual 8man ineligible flag football tournament. Hosted by the Burlington Flag Football League where nine teams are currently playing. The League took a bye week for its top 4 teams to participate in, while the Mavericks from Montreal, the Hitmen from Brockton,MA and the All Stars from Manchester,NH took part in the event.
      The Hitmen defated Burlington's #1 Team Yankee Plumbing 19-12 in the championship game. The winning score was an onside kick returned for a td, as a few wacky rules were played in the tournament. The tournament was put together so the Vermont teams could be better prepared for the World Cup Qualifier in Boston,MA on Dec 4/5th. The Burlington league will send down a few teams in hopes of qualifying for the World Cup Invitational slated for Miami,FL  Feb 24-28th.
