International
Flag Football Federation (IFFF):
The official organizer of the World Cup of flag football event.
The IFFF is a not-for-profit organization fathered by Flagmag that
supports it financially to reach both its short & long term goals.
The IFFF has so far organized five World Cup events starting in
Cancun, Mexico
in 1999 while the last event took place in Puerto Plata, Dominican
Republic. As a federation the IFFF has 12 countries affiliated
with it and travels to different parts of the world promoting the
sport.
The federation
manages what are known as regional qualifiers across the USA and
also conducts as many international qualifiers as it can on an
annual basis. The USA regional qualifiers run in fifteen states
and all the top teams win an invitation to participate in our
World Cup Open Invitational Tournament. Players that represent
Team USA flag football are personally picked and screened by the
President of the federation from the regional qualifiers. The
criteria that any player that wants to represent USA in the World
Cup has to travel to at least two foreign destinations to assist
in the development of the lower tier countries is fundamental to
our cause. |
