4/13-Palm Beach County,FL-Championship
Three Peat!!!
Spanish River won the Palm Beach County Flag Football Championships for the third
consecutive year in a row by defeating Dwyer 26-12. The Sharks were seeking redemption as
their only loss in three years was to Dwyer early this season. Last Years Championship saw
the same two teams battle it out, as Spanish River won that game 19-0. Since their loss
Spanish River has won 11 consecutive games finishing the season at 13-1, and a three-year
record of 34-1.
Dwyer started the scoring in the 1st
quarter when QB- (Team USA)-Katherine Bogie connected for a 5 yard TD pass on 4th
down with WR-
Rachael Simmons. Soon after the Sharks struck back on a 10 yard TD pass From QB-
lindy brett to #82 Stacy
Sinkfield,
the Sharks converted the 1 point attempt to Sinkfield to take a 7-6 lead. In the 2nd
quarter the Sharks scored again on a 15-yard pass to #24 Stacey
Carter. To take a 13-6 lead. Spanish River then scored again on a Brett 5 yard TD pass to #1 Jayda
Pinvidic. Spanish Rivers Tara Leiti caught the Extra point for the Sharks to take a
commanding 20-6 lead into the Half.
The Panthers Started the
second half When Bogie connected on a 3-yard TD pass to Conforti, to put Dwyer within a
touch down at 20-12. Spanish River however bounced right back by scoring on a 3 yard pass
to Carter, to end the scoring at 26-12.
Dwyers QB Catherine Bogie suffered and injury on her throwing
hand finger, which caused Dwyer to bring in Amanda Conforti. Dwyer was also missing the
Countys leading Receiver and Team USA player Jessica Naperski due to illness.
Dwyers Captain-Katherine Bogie it was disappointing to the whole team to have
our final game end this way, but at the same time we were proud of the season we had and
how far we have come in the past two years. We all know that we were the ones that ruined
Spanish rivers perfect record.

4/12-Palm Beach County,FL-Playoffs
The Championship game is set and its a repeat of
last years, as Dwyer will take on two time defending champ Spanish River. Dwyer defeated
Palm Beach Gardens 21-12 and Spanish River beat Lake Worth-20-13. Dwyer was leading 13-0
at half-time on two Td's by Amanda Conforti but the Gators made a strong comeback scoring
two tds in the 3rd quarter. Dwyer held on for the win and were without star wide
receiver Jen Naperski who is sick and is questionable for tonight's championship game.
Spanish River held off Lake Worth by intercepting a pass with 10 seconds remaining
to advance.Spanish River's # 24 Stacey Carter scored the games first td and Lake Worth
countered when #1 Mellissa Savage scored tying the game at 6-6.Spanish River then scored
two Td's just before the half, #6 Coley Sheriff, and #1 Jayda Pinvidic put the Sharks up
20-6 at the Half. With 10 Minutes remaining in the game,Lake Worth ran a tick play and
apparently scored but the referees called back the td on an inadvertent whistle. This
proved to be costly as Lake Worth did not score in this drive. Lake Worth scored with 5
minutes remaining on a run by #6 Nicole Musco to end the scoring at 20-13.
The Championship game will be a rematch of last years, where Spanish
River defeated Dwyer 19-0.This year will be a little different as Dwyer has added a little
more experience to the team. Three Dwyer players played for Team USA and traveled to
Canada, Mexico, and the World Cup where they gained valuable experience. It obviously paid
off as Dwyer defeated Spanish River earlier in the season 13-6, giving Spanish River its
first loss in three years. The Championship game will be a battle as it
will have both teams looking for redemption.

The Dynamic Duo!!! Naperski- Bogie-(Rice & Montana)
Last year Dwyer High School had a decent squad losing only two games, and the
championship game 19-0 to Spanish River. This year however the team has a different tone,
Dwyer is crippling their opponents by 20 plus points per game.A perfect 7-0
this season. One of those wins was against Spanish River, there first loss in three
years. Why such an improvement? Where did the explosion of offense come from?? Look no
further than the QB-WR Tandem of Katherine Bogie and Jessica Naperski. Like
Rice and Montana this duo has connected for over 10 Td's this season in just 7 games.
Bogie and Naperski are returning veterans and both were All County All Stars. Both were
invited to tryout for Team USA Flag Football, where they played in Mexico City and
Montreal Canada. Team USA Coach Nick Thomas liked what he saw and selected both to play
for Team USA at the World Cup in Cocoa,FL this past January.Bogie contributes this years
High School success to her experience playing in international tournaments,"Playing
at such a high level has allowed us to understand the game better. We now know more and see
a lot more things on the field".
