Drew Brees with Apopka Girls High School Team

Saints QB Drew Brees with Apopka Girls High School Flag Football Team
Orlando,FL-The Apopka girls flag football team recently got a lot closer to New Orleans Saints QB Drew Brees than most of the Indianapolis Colts' rushers did in the Super Bowl.
That was by design.
"The NFL is real interested in promoting girls flag football,'' Blue Darters coach Matt Houvouras said. "They believe flag football is a device to keep girls interested in football.''
The picture was taken at Walt Disney World on Monday, Feb. 8, the day after the Saints won 31-17 in Super Bowl XLIV in Miami. Brees was the headliner of a parade in which the 13 Blue Darters also walked.
"It was great fun,'' Houvouras said. "You got to walk along the parade route, and you had people waving at your players.''
The picture was taken in the Rose Garden at Magic Kingdom. The Blue Darters only got to spend a moment with Brees, but he left an impression.
"He taught one of our players how to throw a spiral,'' Houvouras said. "He was so busy doing interviews, but every time he could, he would look around and give fans [calling his name] a thumbs-up.''
