Never Too Old for Flag Football-47 Year Old Earns Defensive MVP honors at International Flag Football Festival
Foxbourgh, MA-Lawrence United defensive Lineman,Alex Mulcahy stands in at 5'6
and a lean 140lbs. Playing defensive lineman against offensive lineman 300lbs at the International Flag Football Festival is quite a feat, but whats impressive is he's 47 years old playing contact. While most players after 40 play QB, and some canadians playing WR in there early 50's, FlagMag.com found him to be the oldest flag football player on the defensive line.
Mulcahy was given the nick name, MR Happy, as this cheery defensive lineman gave it his all with a positive attitude and always had a smile. Although his team, Lawrence United from Lawrence,MA,placed 4th in the A Division, he received defensive MVP Honors at the Internationl Flag Football Festival ,as he recorded a record 12 sacks in 5 games to earn the honor. So the next time you think your Too Old to play flag football, think of Mulcahy, and ask the question again, are you really too old to play?
What do you think of a 47 year Old playing?
what age do you think is the maximum to play in flag football?
Can you think of someone over 50 playing?
