This tiny remote island has a population of 12,000 people and is located off the coast and is only accessible by boat or aircraft. The nearest city is Vancouver BC a 6 hour boat ride. The island receives 13 inches of rain a year, 300 days of rain a year. The island has only 35 miles of roadway and is known for its tourism, Fishing village and its Flag Football league. Yes this island has been playing flag football for the past 10 years.
The spring season finishes this Sunday with 9 time defending Champ Mean Machine vs 1^st city. Mean Machine has won the league championship 9 of 10 times. The league consists of 4 teams and they play 3 regular season games then a double elimination tournament decides the league championship.
This past Wednesday night in playoff loser bracket action, mean machine defeated Madison 48-12, under normal conditions, 37F, rain and 20 mph wind on a pebble field. Mean Machine will now play undefeated 1^st city for the league championship, 1^st city defeated mean machine in earlier playoff action 19-6. The style of play is 7 on 7 screen, with a 5-yard rush
