Boston Metro Flag Football league Code of Conduct

Boston Metro Flag Football League, World Cup Flag Football Player/Coach code of conduct

Players and Coaches are the most important people in the sport of Flag football. Playing for enjoyment as a member of a team is the most fundamental part of the game. Whilst winning is the objective, it is not to be achieved at any cost , Fair Play and respect for all others in the game is essential.

This Code focuses on players involved in team flag football. Nevertheless, the key concepts in the Code are valid for players at all levels.

1. Play Flag football to enjoy yourself, and accept that striving to win is more important than winning itself. Victory and defeat are inevitable, and should be accepted equally

2. Understand and abide by the laws, rules and spirit of the game and any competition in which you participate

3. Players will exhibit good sportsmanship at all times, never condone violations of the laws of the game or exhibit behaviour contrary to the spirit of the laws of the game

4. Consistently display high standards of behaviour

5. Respect the wishes and directions of your coach

6. Respect the referees decisions at all times

7. Treat opponents with due respect at all times, and avoid words or actions that may mislead a match official

8. No offensive, abusive or insulting remarks shall be made toward any other player, official or parent

9. Display a good attitude at training and on game days 10. Players will turn up for games in advance of kick-off and training as directed by the team manager

11. No jewellery is to be worn by players during matches or training

12. Players will always wear the correct uniform

13. Team Jerseys are to be worn at all times.

14. Football cleats must in a good and safe condition

15. NO METAL CLEATS

16. Players must not eat or chew during matches or training

17. Inform the coach when you have an injury

18. Ensure that all requisite forms are filled in correctly

19. No Refund Policy,due to scheduling, teams who register & pay will not be given refunds at any given time

20. Encourage your teammates you cannot win a game on your own.

Players not respecting the code of conduct will be suspended. All Suspensions carry fines.

Any Player ejected from a game, is automatically given a one game suspension and $50 fine.

Each Suspension is reviewed by our committee, where they discuss and hand out the fine and suspension of the player/s. All Fines and suspension’s will be carried over to the next league or tournament.

Suspensions-

One game & $50 Fine

1. Throwing a punch

2. Leaving the sideline to enter an altercation

3. Name Calling & Profanity

4. Unruly Fans

5.Three Personal fouls in a game.

6. Not Picking up side line after game.

7. Ejected from game.

2 Game-$100 Fine

1. Throwing and landing a punch

2. Initiating a fight

3. Disrepecting an official

4. Failure t o pay an official for game fee.

3 Games-$250 Fine

1. Harrassing an Offical

2. After game altercation

The above mentioned are only examples of incidents, all actions will be reviewed by our committee and they will issue appropriate fines and suspensions These are guidelines, each incident is reviewed by committee where fines and suspensions are issued.

FOREFEITS-All teams who forfeit, will not be eligible for playoffs. Forfeiting teams are responsible for paying double ref fees.(8Man $70, 4Man-$40) payment needs to be in this office by Wednesday of the following week or the team will be removed from the schedule
