Twenty four top gun teams will battle it out for the
$12,000 first place cash prize this Easter weekend at the Let It Fly
Nationals. There will be 150 over teams competing in five Divisions
of the 4man no contact tournament. This will be the Ninth year for
the annual event, which no top gun team has everyone twice. Last
Years MOB of Miami,FL defeated the Hurricanes of New Orleans,LA
13-12 for the crown.

An amazing 600 teams, 3000 players, took part in the 9th annual four man no
contact tournament held at the University of South Florida campus in Tampa this
past weekend.The top four of each division will qualify for the Nationals which
will be held March 30-31st in at the Lake Parker Soccer complex in
Lakeland,FL.All teams will be responsible for their own travel and lodging. Only
the winning teams will receive free entry, all others will pay $300 entry
fee.The top four teams in each division of every local event qualify for the
National Finals. Team captains will receive Nationals information via US Mail.
Qualifying teams in all divisions must have at least three of the original
roster and may use only 1 other person from another qualifying team. Winners of
the Top Gun division in each local event receive free entry into the National
Finals. The winner of the Top Gun division at Nationals will receive $12,000,
2nd place will receive $3,000.All other divisions will receive trophies and
merchandise awards.
In the Men's Top Gun division, fifty six teams battled it an extremely
competitive overall field. It was an all Jacksonville final as Rocky Top edged
out archival the Playmakers 20-19 in the title game.Rocky Top was on fire early
and took a commanding 20-0, when Q.B. David Callhan connected with two long TD
passes to his brother Tim Callahan, and a 8 yard TD pass to Daniel "Smokey"
Holmes. The Playmakers charged right back as Q.B. Mike Itani connected with
Darnell Jackson, and then Chad Townsend intercepted Rocky Top on the ensuing
drive. Itani then connected on a 3rd and long hail mary pass to Ray Riley to
bring the score to 20-13. Itani then threw a 5 yard TD pass to Ray Riley, the
extra point failed and that was the end of the scoring. Rocky Top held off the
playmakers on the last play of the game, as Daniel Smoky Holmes picked off the
Itani pass in the endzone to secure the win. Jacksonville was well represented
as three of the final teams were all from that city. In the semis, The
Playmakers defeated the Ducks while Rocky Top defeated Miami's Trump tight. The
quarterfinals were extremely competitive as all the games came down to the
wire. Rocky Top beat Deep Threat, Playmakers defeated Siska,Ducks beat Elvis
Lives and Trump tight beat Rip Tide.
In the Women's Top Gun division hometown team Jungle won the field of five
teams by defeating the Fury of Miami 20-13 in the championship. In the youth 11
& under division, the Bucaneers defeated the Terminators in an exciting game. In
the over 40 Div, Obadiah of Jacksonville defeated Dominos 25-18. In competitive
divisions championship games ,Clearwaters-Suicide Kings beat Minnesota 14-0,
Chevy Boys of Cleawater beat Shank Shift 23-21,Rage of Tampa defeated Code Red
26-12, Temple Titans beat the Rebels 28-6,No Shame defeated Gulf Coast Planes
21-14 and the Hitmen defeated Power Rangers 28-0.

Extreme of Dallas,TX won the 30 Team Top Gun Division Championship of
the 4on4 tournament. Over Five Hundred teams competed in the annual event.
Extreme defeated Playin Possum 14-6 for the title.Extreme was lead by Team
USA Selection Frank Idelbrando. In the semis Extreme defeated the Gators in OT
20-19 and Playin Possum received a forfeit win over 4play. 4PLay was
disqualifier for fighting with a Referee

Dallas,TX-Let it Fly-4Man
The Hitmen(Sponsored by FlagMag.com for their participation in the
Dallas ,TX World Cup qualifier earlier in Dallas)of New Orleans,LA won the Top
Gun division of the 9th Annual Let It Fly 4 on4 tournament. Five hundred overall
teams and 24 Top Gun Teams competed in the tournament. The Hitmen defeated
Gametime of Dallas,TX in the championship 28-12. In the semis the Hitmen
defeated the Gulfcom Gators 19-7 and Gametime defeated Venom/FlagMag(Sponsored
by FlagMag.com for their participation in the Dallas ,TX World Cup qualifier
earlier in Dallas) 19-6.

Mob Edges Hurricanes for Championship!!
MOB of Miami,Fl won the Let it Fly 4Man nationals this past weekend by narrowly
defeating the Flagmag Hurricanes 13-12 to become the eighth team to hold the
honor. No team has repeated as champions. The Hurricanes however won it in 1996.
The MOB started the scoring when QB-Richard Obara connected with Albert Leon on
a 15 yard post pass, the extrapoint to Leon was good and MOB took a 7-0 lead.
The hurricanes struck back on a 10 yard pass from Manzella to Sloan, the extra
point failed and MOB lead 7-6. With under two minutes remaining in the game
MOB's Derek(Tiger) Tunes intercepted a pass. On the next play Dwaine Neal took a
handoff and raced 35 yards to paydirt for a commanding 13-6 lead. With just
under a minute remaining Manzella brought his team down to the MOB 15 yardline
where on the last play of the game Scott Devine caught a TD pass to make the
score 13-12. The Hurricanes elected to go for two on the conversion for the
win.. The conversion pass was incomplete to Devine and MOB held on for their
first Let It Fly National victory.

school. 16 Mens and 4 Women's team competed for the 4 Man title that has never
had a team repeat as Champions. Seven Nationals Championships and seven
different national Championships have claimed the crown since it started in 1994

Wisconsin Team takes the Top Gun Bracket.
For the first time a ocal Wisconsin Team has won the Top Gun Division of the Let
it Fly's 4on4 tournament. A near perfect weekend with temps in the 80's made the
tournament a huge success with over 250 teams competing overall. Noah's Ark of
Menominee,WI defeated Bohica in the Championship 32-13. Noah's Ark players are,
Jacob Wild,Joe Noah,Voigts,Drew Buyarski,Nathen Tworks and Nathan Parrette.The
Top four teams will advance to nationals in Lakeland,FL where the prize will be
$12,000 for first and $3,000 for second place. All four teams will be
