Oklahoma Sooners Player Injured in Flag Game
Last Updated on Monday, 13 April 2009 20:57 Written by FlagMag Reporter Monday, 13 April 2009 20:18
NORMAN, Okla. (AP) - A flag football game featuring former Oklahoma football players didn't come without a casualty.
Running back Renaldo Works injured his left foot while playing in the exhibition game before the Sooners' spring game on Saturday.
Works says he was making a cut when he felt his Achilles tendon pop. He hobbled around Owen Field on crutches after the game, but was in good spirits and said he had a good time despite the injury.
Works was a part-time starter for Oklahoma's Sugar Bowl team in 2004 and got a tryout with the Miami Dolphins that fall.
Charles Thompson threw touchdown passes to Tony Casillas and Jason Freeman to lead the White team to a 12-6 victory.
