Foxbourgh, MA-a great showing for their first flag football tournament, as the NorthSure team beat the best teams the world has to offer in 8Man Ineligible play.

The North Sure team is a stranger to Flag Football but not football as all their players play College Football.

This group of College kids knocked off the Titans a well experienced flag football team from New York City 32-20 for the crown. QB Anthony Fucillo threw four touch town passes including two to his brother James Fucillo in the title game. Anthony is the starting QB at Division 3 Tufts University while James is a starter at Catholic University of America. The team was made up of buddies who decided at the last second to put a team in the event.

Nobody had them pegged to win the tournament and go undefeated at 6-0. IN the title game,the team pulled away in the final minutes as Alex Perry and Chris Small pulled in touch down grabs to seal the victory. The tournament was so well rounded that the Northsures closest game, 7-6 was to the Wolverines of Revere,MA who went 0-5 in the tournament.

The number of teams isnt staggering, but the fact that two of their teams played in the Championship of the International Flag Football Festival in Foxborough,MA is amazing. The odds of one of these small town teams making it to the show is like hitting powerball, but two of them playing in the title game is equal to winning the lottery twice, almost impossible.To get to the title game, the Bundy Boys defeated the Outlaws of Nashua,NH 18-14 in a barn burner, while Robars Rampage squeaked by the Revere Wolverines 20-12. On Saturdays both teams playe three round robin games, before advancing to Sundays Single elimination tournament.Both teams struggled on SAturday going 1-2 each, but on

Sunday the teams turned up the heat and used there tournament experienced teams to win when it counted. PLayers from both teams had quite a bit of experience has most of the players have been to previous IFFF events before.

To put the Twin Valley League in perspective, its the same size as the Valencia, Venzeuela Flag Football League, just six teams, but yet two of them competed for the World Title in 8Man Ineligible B Division. Not too shabby for the tiny town located minutes from the Vermont Border.
